Scott,
I would not head to St. Marys just yet. It is tough to fish, especially now. Sept. will start the fish up again. Drop me a PM and I will give you my TX.

I am planning a trip to Grand Lake/St. Marys Crappie fishing in a couple of weeks. I have never fished the lake in my life and wanted to get some tips and maybe a few spots to check out. Would be willing to trade some East Fork spots if need be. Any help though is appreciated! And big question with it being so shallow am I wasting my time right now and wait till fall? Thanks!

In a shallow lake and when the weather is hot, I have been told that fishing under the docks, into boat lifts and under pontoons is a successful way to fish. Learn to use a short lightweight pole and pull the jig back until the rod bends and let go which allows the line and the jig to slingshot back in under pontoons and docks.
