    Default Arkabutla Report

Hey guys. Anyone have a report on Arkabutla fishing near the Highway 51 bridge or on the spillway or Elbow creek? Might go this weekend, just wanted to know if someone had any info on the crappie?

Just had a major rain event and water flowing thru bridge @ 51 will be quite swift and creamed coffee colored. Spillway will most likely be shut down. I'm sure someone in a boat in the river below the dam could bring home enough for dinner.

I fished Friday 4-29 above I55 bridge, then on N.E side of lake, then on S.E. side near Coldwater point. very slow, did not see anyone catching fish.
We caught 2 and fished various water depth and structure. They were not on the willows. Bad case of lock jaw. Good luck.

fished today 5-10 lake falling .10.-fish scattered. appears all spawn completed but some fish still in 2 ft. fish moving out from spawn area. caugh only 6-lost about that many. Guy at ramp caught 20 all day in the buck brush. super tough fishing in the middle of it but got results. did not catch any on cyrpress trees, some on down willows.

Fished yesterday. cauhgt 12 in three hours.some on blow downs.some of these fish fish were big males, still black and trying to spawn. There is still about 10 to 15 percent of fish still spawning. Also caught some post spawn fish in 5 to 8 feet of water suspended above brush piles. Crappiehigh is correct. The fish are scattered and doing a little bit of everything at this time. The fishing will be much better in a week or two when these fish get in there summer pattern
    Biguns only:D
