fish carcass
Looking for recommendations on a good bait for minnow trap. I had the opportunity a few years back to go with a professional trapper in Canada and he had "bait balls" that he used that held together longer in the trap. Can't find his number anymore. Anyone have a successful bait they prefer? Thanks in advance

I always used stale bread, it eventually breaks up, but had pretty good luck up to the point it dissipated.

Fresh bread squeezed into a ball will work also.

You wont believe this but I alway's use a onion cut in half.
Hey thanks for all the recommendations. Will give them all a try. I did find a site that was posted by a Minnesota F&G guy where he was sampling various baits and catagorizing the results...Ivory soap was one of the big ones?? Must be something in the base ingredient. Anyway, thanks again guys.

We always fared better with a chunk of liver or something with a little blood in it, creek shiners fed on it like Piranas.
