    Damn! That's a big crappie.

I was in the Fate Sanders area around that time and caught 18 with only 6 keepers. Biggest at 12 1/4". I know my buddy went to the same area and caught 30 keepers a day or two earlier. I wonder if the cooler weather this weekend will do anything to them.

Hey catbatt... how did you do this weekend? I Had time to go Saturday and the weather was too ugly for me! I've been fly fishing for years and I'm dying to try it on crappie. Any tips on how you go about it? For example do you use sinking tip line? What kind of fly? ... :p

Went out today (after the cold front). High of 67 degrees and mostly cloudy @ JPP. The bite wasn't near as agressive. We snagged about 12 with about 7 keepers over 2 hrs (5pm-7pm). Although minnows were thrown out the back of the boat with a floater, we caught ALL of them on red/chartreuse jigs with white & black heads.

    Water depth was 3-6 ft.

I put about a 8 ft 6 lb. test leader on my fly rod.,I make jijs out
    of no 1-O hooks.
Went for a few hours last monday and caught a bunch
of little ones in suggs creek.
Going back in the morning Saturday 29th and try it some.
Didnt get to use my fly rod yet but i will in the morning.
