Default Stay Away From Kansas- Missouri Hounds

This is a warning---Don't show up here in Kansas with your crappie poles and fancy lures. We like to keep our lake crappie for the home folks.

But since you are so interested in my warning, here is the reason.
This photo of a four pounder caught my Lee Lewis, who was nice enough to post it on the Kansas Fishing Reports this past week. I'm taking the liberty to post the photo here on the Missouri-Crappie.com site. I'm sure Lee wouldn't object to me using his picture and him with the BIG Kansas Crappie.

Now you know why the warning.

March 23, 2008 - Fall River - I just want to take a second to brag about this beast of a Crappie. I apologize for the cell phone photo. I was Jigging with red Squirt and Squirm, catching smaller Crappies most of the day last Friday at the Fall River Reservoir. I took this 17 inch Crappie in about 11 feet of water in a small cove. The fish weighed 4 pounds on the money, and I was using 6 lb. monofilament. The hit was subtle, but the fight was great. I looked over at my new fishing buddy Jordan, smiled, and said "I think this one is a little bigger." All I can say is WOOOOHHHOOOOOO!!!!!! Have a great time fishing, and remember to take a child fishing.

    Yours,

    Lee Lewis

Isn't that a "hog" of a crappie, bugman? I've fished some fair lakes in Kansas before, but, never hook one of this size. They tell me, the "big ones" are in Woodson Lake, but I'm like you, heading up there to catch this ones brother or sister.
