I wish I had bamboo like that in my area. I think I am going to try to plant some this year.
Load of bamboo, not hard to find but a bit of work involved.
Having a good looking helper is a plus.
I use three blocks to be sure it sinks and stays in place.
I use 16 stalks of bamboo per mat. Insert two thru from one way and two from the opposite direction in the same hole. Be sure to stick it thru until some of the small branches are thru the block so it won't back out. I only put bamboo in the two top blocks.
A perfect wife. How lucky am I?
Once it's assemblied just dump it over the side.
If you see something that looks like this just go away, nothing but carp here.
Pat, Rick and I have built over 40 of these since Feb. If you're not doing the same then you are not really serious about wanting to catch a lot of Crappie. I will be happy to share the locations of the bamboo (uncut) with you. You get to do the work.
Good fishing.

Whats that boat your working in Ernest? Looks like a Crestliner.
Good things come to those who bait.
I've been sinking alot of Cedar trees lately,Know where a small patch of Boo's at I may try that,I've got some block that weigh 100# each so sinking them is not a problem:D,Picking up the blocks is though.
When you push it off the boat like that does it always end up standing up correctly? Just to be clear you do not tie the boo to the blocks. Just make sure that you push them through far enough that they will not float out. Good looking stuff. Gonna have to get on it.

God keeps me busy building habitats all time. yep.
He came through here the other day with a big breath and blew some trees down and told me to get busy and build his fish some new homes.
I been busy obliging. I sure don't wanna make him real mad.

Can't land wrong, there's really no top or bottom, but mine all go down just like I built them in the boat.
Good fishing.
Unless the water is really shallow..in which case it wouldn't matter much....the bamboo acts like a " parachute " of sorts and stays up top.
