    I was wondering what combo you all feel is best all around combo for crappie? not really brands but pole length, action, reel type ,line poundage etc. thanks.

    What do you want to do? Troll, vertical jig, cast jigs, etc.? My ideal combo for casting jigs will not satisfy you if you want a spider rig outfit.

    Also, there are tons of rod and reel discussions in the archives.

    For all 'round crappie fishing....I'd say a spinning reel and a 6' UL rod.

    5ft ultra light shakespere($9.88 ) and pinaccle tiny deadbolt($19.99) at academy. $30.00 for the combo fill with 6# test mr. crappie hi-vis . it has caught me thousands of crappie.

    If I could only use one I'd probably go with a 8ft rod and spinning reel with 6 lb. line.
