I dont understand why it wouldn't but I thought that I would ask, Is it ok to have a gas outboaurd on your boat when fish a lake that does not allow the use of one. I would not be useing it it would just be there.

KK, here in Virginia, it depends on who owns the lake. (city or county) Some allow them as is, just don't use them. Others make you disable them by removing the gas tank or taking the prop off. Sometimes I think one needs to take a lawyer fishing with them to be sure they are legal. Another good one is stripped bass in North Carolina. They have to be a certain length, depending on where you are at and you can only keep them certain days of the week.

    Nope,
It is still illegal to have a gas outboard on a lake that doesn't allow them.
I had a buddy who covered his outboard with a plastic garbage bag,
and had it trimmed all the way up,
and he still got a ticket. I have heard about removing the prop,
    but I wouldn't risk it.
You know how the WDFW officers can be.
You almost need a Lawyer to be an angler in this state.

I wouldnt even try in this state because there is so many control freak game wardens that are so power happy that they would write a 4 year old a ticket.

IF a lake is not listed under the "special rules" in the regulation book does that mean thatoutboards may be used? I believe this to be true but I am not positive>
