Mine was made in California. I bought my first (and last) Ford a LONG time ago.

You must have a Tacoma. My Tacoma made at the GM factory along with the Vibe (I think).

Default GM does not make Ford

quote: "...and an American company (General Motors)"

General Motors makes GMC and Chevy. Not Ford...

As a rule a truck, any kind, taken care of should last 10 years. I have owned Fords,a Nissan, and now a Dakota. Its a 2000, V6 Hvy Duty pkg, 4x4, extended cab. This is the first time I have owned a Chrysler product. 2000 consumer report rated it - don't even buy it, all kinds of problems, junk. I now have 170,000 miles on it (and no rust) and put my 1st set of brakes (front & rear) in! The mech. thought I never stopped. I had it looked over completely, ball joints, suspension etc. and he recommended only the transfer case gasket and a gasket in the rear somewhere be replaced, thats all. The total maint. cost for everything came to $500. Other than oil changes, thats the only cost I have to date. I even have the orginal battery in it. and it always stands out at 40 below (where I live) and has always started. All my trucks I always drain and run only synthetic lubes, in rearend, & transmission. You never know when you'll get lucky, I think this truck will last forever. Next year 10th year I will buy another, maybe? Only thing wrong with this truck is I am getting sick of driving the same truck!

I just bought a new Toyota Tacoma last May. My first so-called "foreign" vehicle. My favorite rebuttle to anyone asking about my "foreign" truck is "It's assembled here in Indiana. Most people find that very hard to believe. I would recommend the truck to anyone. I love the truck and the features are very practical for an outdoorsman and sportsman like myself. I don't feel I wasted any money on options that I would never use. Love the truck! Had a Ford F10 HD in 2003 and wouldn't drive that truck now if someone gave me a new one every year. My new toyota blows it away in any comparison, and I get 24-26 MPG on the highway!!! And God Bless the HOOSIERS that make them!!
Caught so many fish today my thumb is sore from clicking the counter.
