I just bought a couple of Pflueger underspins for my twin grandsons, and they look and feel really solid, but they haven't been subjected to abuse yet.
Whats the best underspin "trigger spin" out there? I have a spare rod that i would like to rig up as a loaner. I really wish zebco made an Omega underspin. I have and use the lighter one and bar none the best ive used.

I'd say Abu Garcia or Daiwa 'cause they make the best "regular" spincast reels, IMO.
Diawa silvercast or some of the pleugers

Look at these.......... Pfleuger's : Very nice drags as well. $24.95
I know that they use the daiwa underspins at Cedine for the campers to fish with. They have had theirs for years and they get punished and still work great. I even fished one out of the water that had been submerged for several months and it worked fine right out of the water.
Good things come to those who bait.
Pflueger underspins gets my vote, I use them on my dock shooting rods
I got some old style Diawa DX 40s I really like. Had them a long time. The got the drag in the back and have some metal parts. I also got some new Diawa DX40 with the drag in the front center of the line hole. They absolutely suck.
I am waiting on Frank Lawhead to show up with some little "fluggers". ha

Pluegers
I have two models I am particularly fond of : Diawa Underspin 80XL and Zebco
44G Gold. Both of these have a smooth drag and just work well. They are simple and do what they are intended. I use them on my long poles and they work very well for underhand casts, which I do a lot of.
