    Default Great Day at Bucksaw

Finally a great day to be able to fish with Richard Bowling of Bucksaw Marina and what a great day it was:D :D

Mrs JJ here - JJ got sick on the way home and went straight to bed But it didn't keep us from having a great time on the water. We got up early 5ish and headed to Bucksaw - we were on the water approx 7:45. We all had our limit by 11:30 of NICE slabs. The biggest was probably 14 in and approx 2 lb - sorry guys - we forgot the camera so we won't be able to post any pics

Richard is a great guy and very knowledgeable. We were hoping to learn more about that area and Richard showed us a lot. We are looking forward to going back soon. We had thought to go back tomorrow with our boat, but with JJ sick, will have to wait and see. I guess I could go without him  but that means I would have to operate the trolling motor and I just don't like to do that.

Hope everyone else was able to get out and had success too!

    Default details

Oops - I forgot everyone likes to know the details and I will do the best I can:o :o . We fished timber (duh - we were at Truman) and I used a yellow jig head with Chart/Pumpkin jig....JJ had on an unpainted jig head and mostly used Chart/Black jig - we also had luck with yellow and black. NO NIBBLES TODAY .

We caught most fish in water depth of 30-35 ft with the fish suspended at 20-25. The best spot was past the cut-through but I honestly have no idea how far past it - maybe when JJ gets up later (assuming he feels like getting back up tonight) he can be a little more specific.

Dork is what we are - we keep a camera in the boat all the time, so we don't have to remember it (its an age thing) - oops we didn't use our boat - didn't think about the camera until we were 1/2 way there.

What no pic's and JJ is sick, he isn't suppose to get sick after a day like that! Hope he gets better quick, I have been wondering all day how you did. I should have went today, the weather was incredible with temps in the 60's.

How many is a limit on Truman? How do I get there? GPS coordinates to the boat ramp and tree would be fine. Way to go JJ's!:D :D
