    Default Drift Sock

Some one talk to me about a DRIFT SOCK if you don't mind. On my lake the wind is blowing all the time and I mean all the time and it makes trolling almost impossible. Do they really do the job [slow the boat down to almost a stop]? What kind and what size do I get?
    Thanks

I've had success dragging a length of chain tied to some rope behind the boat works great and is less likely to get stuck on bruch or stumps. Its a whole lot cheaper also. The more chain on the bottom, the slower you go. To increase speed just pull a little rope up until you reach the speed you want.

The socks work real good, but you might want to go with a size or three
bigger than is recommended for your boat length, especially if you've
got an alumimum mod-V or flatbottom... I've got a 48" I think it is,
works pretty well with the heavy deep V I've got now, but was borderline
small on the mod V I had before when it really blew. Another option might
be to use two medium sized ones.
