    Default Bill, twister tail ?

Bill, you said you troll mostly twisters, I have a dumb question I guess. Do you point the tip of the tail up or down on the swimming jig? I have always pointed them up, and they seem to have good action, but I was recently told that was wrong, that the tail is meant to be pointed down. Do you know if it is a preference thing, or is one way actually better?

Actually that's a good question. My fishing partner and I had that discussion a couple weeks ago.

I never paid any attention to it...sometimes up and sometimes down. He insisted thay have to be down. My experiment(his catch rate compared to mine) shows it doesn't make a difference. After being made aware of it I do think it looks like it has more action pointed down. But I still fish it either way.

My money is on it doesn't make a difference.

I do know that pointed up they tend to stick themselves more often. Maybe someone will jump in and give us a more logical reason for one way or the other.
