Welcome, haven't been yet this year been working alot. Hope to get out soon. Good luck
Just joined the board so I thought I’d just jump right in. My fishing buddy (fishingbowhunter) and I have been skunked so far this year. Yea, I know the water is too cold – but then I come home and flip on OLN and they’re catching crappie through the ice in Minnesota. So what’s up with that – what’s the country boy explanation? Anyway, I’ve enjoyed reading your posts for a few weeks now and I’ll let everyone know if my luck changes. In the meantime, if you see a white trucking pulling a blue Ghenoe between Hampton and the Chick, that will be us. Good Luck - Rusty

Welcome to the board BG. How are you fishing for them this time of the year? I always use a jig and a minnow about 6 ft below a bobber. Fish have got to eat no matter how cold the water gets so its just a matter of finding what they will bite that particular day. And that can be a science unto itself! LOL The last few trips the only way they would bit was to troll .5 to 1.0 MPH. I sometimes add a little more weight to keep the bait down or just raise the bobber a few more feet. Try that the next time out and see if that helps. I am certainly no expert, but that work for me.

welcome aboard blue.
Been having a tough time this year also, and those espn guys catching crappies all year is amazing isnt it lol.
I would like to see the hunt before finding the crappie, just to see if they do the same stupid things I do, and how they recover from it.
good fishing.

it's cold.. it's raining....it's too windy...
"fish on!!!"
(What a great day for fishing) lol.
I was wondering how long it would take you to join. Cabin fever is really setting in again and ESPN ain't getting it done for me. Give me a call when you want to try it again.
