I agree there CK. I did forward that site to Tom and Ray Magliozzi
of Car Talk to see if they would comment in their column.

Let us know what they say. I'd be interested in trying it.

This is something that you can make safely and easily at home if you wish to try it.

I did an experiment with my kids the other night....making hydrogen from water.

Use 2 wires, a 9volt battery and some salt water.
    Well....

Let me tell you, the results were far from incredible with the amount of hydrogen that was produced.
Mind you...not much amperage from a 9 volt battery.

I honestly do not know how much hydrogen is needed to operate or supplement an engine....but I would assume its more than we made.
AND...the life of the battery was very short.

Hydrogen takes a lot of energy to make and at this state of the game...I don't think its feasible.

    Snake Oil

I've used Electrolysis to clean off the rust of metal parts/ It's the same princapal as this thing. It does generate hydrogen. A lot of bubbles does come up but not enough to run and engine or even help out.. You can watch a big bubble coming up through the water and have a BBQ lighter ready for and it'll go poop... The package that I use is large. A tank is made out of one of the plastic storage containers that has the two flip top doors. I use a 12 volt charger and the mix I use, the current is from 4 to 6 amps.. The size of the metal plates and the mix determins the current draw and how much gas is produced....

This is good for a demo of the gas, but that's about it. My son played around with a package that produced a lot more gas than my cleaning unit and couldn't see where it made any difference in the engine running. It drew so much current that his alternator couldn't keep up...

Great way to clean rust off metal, science project but that about as far as it goes. Or you can plate metal with it also...
