Question Help With Humminbird & Hydrografix

I have a Humminbird Matrix87c. I have the Humminbird PC program on my computer to update my unit & manage my waypoints. I have some of the Hydrografix sidescans & would like to be able to transfer my waypoints from Oziexplorer to my humminbird unit. What do I do/need to make this happen. Putting them in manually is getting old! Come on Cane Pole, I know you have figured this one out.

    Default Here ya go

    Note:

I suggest using a dedicated separate MMC/SD card for this function.

    Ozzie

    1. Open Ozie and load your desired (existing) waypoints . The ones you want to get from Ozie to your Humminbird.
    2. goto file
    3. goto save file as
    4. goto Export to GPX file
    5. click it (opens new indow)
    6. give it a file name and save it(gpx file) in my documents

This creates a GPX file in My Documents

    MMC/SD Humminbird

    1. Place MMC/SD card in card reader
    2. open Humminbird PC program
    3. click manage waypoints and tracks (opens new window)
    4. goto file click import merge
    5. this opens new window (my documents), highlight the new gpx file you created in Ozie and click it
    6. click open
    7. this should put the waypoints in the Humminbird program file and you should see the waypoint column displayed
    8. click transfer tab
    9. click toMMC/SD
    10. select MMC/SD drive letter (if asked)
    11. click ok

This should put the waypoints on the mmc/sd card (it creates a folder called matrix). This is a special folder for Humminbird, not a waypoint file, but it contains waypoint data.

    1. Power off unit.
    2. Remove the map card (if you have one installed).
    3. Put the MMC/SD card in the unit.
    4. Power up unit. It will then upload these waypoints.
    5. Power off unit.
    6. Reinstall map card.
    7. Power up unit and verify waypoints.

Thanks Tom I have been wondering how to do that with my 987.. Should have asked you. How did you like it when you used it this way on your unit?

I don't do this anymore. I use the PC data cable with my unit. Inside, at my desk, in the warmth. Now if Humminbird would only fix the playback lockup problem.

Humminbird folks ain't been here lately. Guess they lost interest or couldn't generate any sales. I guess I will go to their house and gripe about the fix.

Cane Pole, I only record one run with my 997 but it plays back with out a problem. It never locked up once, although it took me a sec to figure out how to stop it.
I'd bet the reason the bird boys haven't said any thing is they're likely busier than a cat in a kids sand box about now getting ready for next year and the 1197 release on top the other stuff. But the best way to get answers is the Yahoo Users group.

I strongly suggest using a "seperate" MMC/SD card for data transport.

    Unit process

    1. Turn unit on, wait for power up, then hit menu button twice (menu, menu)
    2. Arrow over and select NAV tab (top of screen)
    3. Arrow down to EXPORT ALL NAV DATA
    4. Right arrow over
    5. ****Caution at this point. All existing data on SD card will be lost****
    6. Arrow over : YES
    7. This creates a folder named Matrix on the sd card. This is not the waypoint file (yet).
    8. Power the unit down and remove the sd card.

    Computer Humminbird process

    1. Install sd card in card reader
    2. Open Humminbird PC program and click on Manage Tracks, Waypoints, Routes
    3. Goto transfer tab, scroll to: from MMC/SD and click it
    4. This brings the waypoints into the PC program and the waypoints show up in the waypoint column of this window.
    5. Goto the File tab (at top) and scroll to export and click it

This opens a new window (save as window). This is where you create a GPX file.
    6. Give the file a name and click save. This will save the waypoints as a GPX file in my documents (if that is your “save in” location).

    Computer Ozie process

    1. Open Ozie map you wanna use.
    2. Goto file at top then click and scroll down to load from file
    3. Scroll over and down to IMPORT GPX FILE (wps and tracks) and click it
this opens the load GPX File window
    4. If look in = my documents then click on the GPX file icon you just created
    5. Click open
    6. This should put your waypoints on the Ozie map

All the Humminbird 700 series have record playback issues. Humminbird is working on it. I just like to "stick pins in their cushion" on occasion.

    Question Cane Pole Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cane Pole I am trying to go from Ozie to Humminbird with the waypoints I created in Ozie not from humminbird to Ozie. I looked at the isnstructions you posted but I'm think'n those are from Humminbird PC to Ozie. Is that correct? if so, how do I put waypoints that I create in Ozie into my humminbird PC program without havig to manually type in the coordinants? Can it be done?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!
