I fished some of those 100+ degree days on Arkabutla. Thank goodness for those homemade PVC umbrella stands. Couldn't have fished without them. As for catching...I moved out on some main lake points and still caught some nice ones. I did have to put up with tons of three inch Catfish.

Did all my fishing at night (as usual), but it was still pretty hot some nights. Air and water were both in the nineties.

The warm water always seems to slow the crappie down. I guess that just makes the fall (my favorite time to crappie fish) even better.

Well fall is just around the corner for me. Some trees are turning up here already. The nights are cooler and getting shorter. Which means one thing. Its time to search for crappies and hit up the fall bite. The summer heat brought my inland lake fishing to a slow down but my Lake Michigan fishing picked up and now is coming to an end.

screeeeching halt for me too. Only got out 4 or 5 times between July 4th and Labor Day - caught 1 crappie that whole time and it was just barely legal at 9.5"

I too have not been fishing during the last 3 months or so, just too hot for an old man, sure looking forward to the coming cold weather.

Live in N. La. From June thru Aug. my neighbor and I went as much as we could. We caught a lot of good fish even though we sweated a lot to do it. All our fish were caught on one shallow flat off a creek channel in our local lake. Water was about 10 ft deep and we caught them 6-9 ft. deep. Using a variety of jig colors tipped with crappie nibbles.
