I use a loop knot easy to tie and jig lays out as soon as in the water.
I was raised using the clinch knot but realized that it's not the best knot so I've been experimenting with the improved clinch and the trilene knot but lately I'm catching more crappie then ever (118 this past Saturday) and I'm having problems with the knot coming undone. Is it just the fact that I'm catching so many crappie and need to retie it every now and then? I'm using Capps & Coleman rigs and only have 6" or so to tie the knot so I find that makes the Palomar knot difficult to tie. Any suggestions?

Let's go fishing.
Don't know the name of it, but saw it on a bass fishing show. Make a loop, run the loop through the eye, tie 1/2 of a granny knot but do not pull tight, pass the running end through the loop and pull running end and "rod end" down tight together. Best things are (1) easy to tie (2) you have 2 strands of line through the lure/rig.
A gun in hand is a lot better than a cop on the phone.
Tap,
I just keep a bunch of extra rigs on hand and when one messes up, I just tie on a new rig. Later at home, I will fix up the other rigs that got messed up. I keep 24 rigs on styrofoam noodle like you. Don't usually fish more than six poles unless it is slow and have a clean and level bottom. I'll fish 8 if I'm by my self. just to get a couple more rods out. good catch. CF

I use the loop knot on mono, and a different knot (don't know name) on braid.

I use the Palomar knot and have had very few problems with it.

Uni knot is my favorite. Unless i am tying a jig up the line, then you have to use a polymer knot.
