    I plan to be in Honolulu August the 25-28.
    Would like to have recomendations on place to stay
    around Waikiki close to beach etc. Something rasonable.

    I been there. Ain't nothing reasonable near the beech. Try Hotel Street, near the harbor. I understand it (Hotel Street) is making a big come back.

    My wife went there twice in the last 4 years. I do not know where she stayed but 200 $ per night sticks in my mind times a total of 15 days.really stuck in my mind. Food and drink is a killer too. Have fun mister. Glad you getting to go.

    Looks like that a mid-range is going to be about 200.00 after the very high
    tax rates are added in.
