Ditto on the clip-ons being a pain - I use Daiwa sealine 17's, they're
a little bigger than need be, but work fine for me. I have wished somebody
would make one the size of the old 4500 series Ambassadeurs, but after
thinking a lot about it, not sure it'd be such a good idea. If you're
using the precision trolling book and concerned about exactly how much line
you've got out, you know it affects it a lot if you are not spooled full to
the brim... a smaller, narrower spool would get further "off" quicker when
you cut back your line, just my thoughts on it. If I let my sealines get down
say, 1/4" from the lip of the spool, they will only let out 75-80' when the
readout says 100'. I check them with a 100' steel tape across the
front yard
