    Default A Goodun

One of my clients caught this 17.5-inch crappie when we decided to check one more spot on the way in after a real slow morning.

It was pretty thin from the rigors of spawning and weighed right at 2-pounds. It's markings are more similar to a white crappie but it had 7-dorsal spines so I'm pretty sure it is a hybrid cross between a white crappie and a black crappie. It's the third record crappie for my boat on Lake Greeson this year. It was headed for the Taxidermist as soon as the trip was over.

    Thanks Richard:

It was caught on a 10' B&M Richard William's Signature Series Crappie Wizard Jig Pole by the way. I sure do like these poles for slip-float fishing. The big eyes sure let the bobber stops slip through more easily.

That is one impressive fish. Congrats to him. Too bad it was thinned out from the spawn, that thing looks like it would weigh 3+ lbs with the size. Thanks for the pic.

Good fish Jerry! I agree with you on Richards new rods, they work well. I'm still trying to break two lbs!
