suspect water temps are still on the cold side. Waters on Shelbyville at still in the low 40s with all the cold and snow we've had lately.
Be interested in knowing how you do. Let us know.
Going to Lake Egypt tomorrow to do some crappie fishing, anyone know where the crappie are there. Haven't ever fished there before, but have to assume the fish are pretty shallow right now, might even be time for the spawn.
Anyone have any advice?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike, there are far more knowledgable crappie fishermen than me on this board but I would have tried live minnows fished very slow. Did any schools of fish show up on your fish finder?
the best way to fish lake egypt is to fish the wind this time of year
it moves the hot water
Finally figured it out a little over there. Went there on Monday and Friday and caught some nice messes both times. All nice crappie 10-14", and not one fish smaller, caught very shallow (2-4') around boat docks. All on 1/16 lead heads with a minnow and a small bobber.
Opposite sides of the north end of the lake, because the wind was out of the south west one day and the northwest the other. Water temp varied 6-8 (51-53 upwind to 57-59 downwind) degrees on the downwind side of the the lake both days we were out there.
Hoping the catch the spawn out there in the next few weeks.
