i want to try pulling crank baits, i have seen it done on a few midwest crappie videos but i do not know where,when and what tackle i need, i wish i could read or watch something that what give me a overall basic startup, any advice or direction would be appriciated. thanks!

Crappie52, I'm with you....I'd like to give it a try myself. I've caught a ton of hybrid trolling, but never caught any crappie.
I haven't seen Russ's trolling crankbait show...I have seen Duckworth's though. He trolls a crankbait running the main motor and uses a 5oz sinker. I bought some 5oz sinker's and tried it but just couldn't get the hang of it. 5oz seemed like an awful lot of weight and with the bend it was putting on my rods I wouldn't know if I had a fish or not!
I wonder if anyone tolls the cranks just using their trolling motor?
May just have to hideout with binoculars and catch J. White trolling for them. lol!
Read this. All I use is my TM, have an old 115 2 stroke so I can't use it. Just have some good batteries.
