    Default Octopus hooks

Any of the minnow people here use octopus circle hooks? I usually use Aberdeen but my local Gander Outdoors is going out of business so I bought a few packs. Do they have any advantages or disadvantages for minnow fishing?

I use circle hooks on pool noodle catfish jugs. They work great for those. A circle hook is self setting. As the line tightens up the hook cams into the side of the fishes mouth.

I despise circle hooks. Well, inline circle hooks anyway. I use Octopus hooks and several of its kin like mosquito hooks, especially in saltwater, but not the circle hook variety.

If your going to use them and law does not require true in line circle hooks, offset them a bit and hook up ratio will go way up.
