Default Tangled mess and hooking myself!

When I put my rods(4) up between spots and in and out of the boat at home, I often hook myself and more often get tangles. Does anyone have a good way to keep hooks/jigs on the line and keep them from causing problems?
    Thanks!

I don't have a photo of them right now but I use the plastic Easter eggs. I use my dremmel to cut a slot in them where the line can hang out without being damaged and I close the egg around the jig/hook. This keeps the hook covered and me and my car safe!

That is a great tip and about six months too late. My daughter threw away around 200 of those things a few months back, saying her sons were too old for Easter egg hunts. Had I known this back then I could have grabbed a few dozen for myself.

3" x 3" velcro. Sandwich lure or hook between 2 pcs. Remove and store in tackle box until trip home

Luckily Easter is on our door step. You can probably pick up a dozen at Dollar Tree for $1

I have used electrical tape to tape butt connectors to the bottom of the rods

I use rod sleeves. Rods don't get tangled together. Buy the type with a rubber piece on the opening, otherwise the hook can get hung up in the nylon.
This is the ones I use.

CrappieFlopper taught me a good way of doing it. You use ponytail holders. Loop one onto the pole. First jig goes on hook eye at handle, 2nd jig goes on the pony tail holder. Hook it first then slide the pony tail holder up the rod far enough to stretch it. It will hold the hook tight. I then wrap the line one wrap around the rod, then I'm good to go. The pony tail holders that I use have no metal on them. I get them at Dollar General. They are up close to the check out area.

I use lure wraps on multiple hook baits. Work well for me.Name: lure wrap.png
