    Default What is this thing?

Last time had boat out had problems with jet. Would go slow fine but not when you gunned it. Motor revved but jet didn't. Grate was clear. Still under warranty. Needed oil change so took to shop. This is what they found. It had gotten past the grate and was lodged in the impeller. Not wood. Looks like either bone or part of turtle shell. Just weird. Shop said they have never seen anything like it. Name: image.jpg

It’s not avian in origin. If it was I could ID it. Send it to a biologist. Looks sort of like part of a mandible to me but no idea from what

It is thin. Had to be on end to get through the grate before getting stuck in impeller.

Is it part of a dried pectoral fin off of a fish. It’s hard to tell, maybe put a quarter by it or something for scale.
