Looks good.
Well, the wife's been wanting a barn door for the entryway going into our pantry/laundry room so I began pricing them online a while back and found much to my surprise that they are QUITE PROUD of those things as far as what the sell for. I found 'em anywhere from $340.00 all the way up to about $700.00 for the ones she liked the best.
After getting over my shock I decided since it was going to be cold, windy and rainy for the foreseeable days ahead starting last Thursday I would just try my hand at building one. I found all of the hardware online at Walmart online for about $48.00 (the best price I found anywhere) and went ahead and ordered it and the same day went to Lowes with my trailer in tow to get all of the lumber I would need for the project. Luckily, during the building phase I could duck in out of the weather under my car shelter to do the sawing and sanding and into my workshop when the wind and/or wind blown rain wouldn't let me do anything outside.
After spreading the job out over the next four days a few hours here and a few hours there... I finally finished the job and I must say... the timing was perfect when the hardware showed up right on time after the final screws, sanding, staining and varnishing were done.
I must say I'm quite proud of the way it turned out and my wife absolutely loves it.
It's amazing what a body can do when it comes to being motivated by $AVING $$$$$.
This whole project cost me about $120.00... yes a $AVING$$$ of at least $300.00
Take a moment to let me know what you think.
