    Default casting vs. vertical jigging

What does everybody prefer out of casting, tight lining, vertical jigging, trolling and ect. I myself am a caster and vertical jigger.

I let the fish dictate what they want. Each day is different. I like casting better than anything else

I like tight lining late in the year, trolling in the spring and vertical jigging in the summer. Heck I love it all.

my "preferences" run as such :

    #1 - casting (jigs)
    #2 - dock shooting (jigs)
    #3 - Vertical Casting (jigs)
    #4 - trolling (longline) (jigs)
    #5 - tightline/drifting (minnows)

everything else is either not practiced, or falls together in a 6th place tie :D

I like casting best, then tight lining.

In the winter, I like ultra-slow vertical jigging. During the spawn, I'm wading with my cane pole. The rest of the year it's mostly casting, with some slip-corking when applicable.

What will catch fish that day. I fish with one guy that will only fish with a 12ft jigging pile does not believe in a reel other then a standard one to hold line.
And will only fish structure he can see.
Now he does catch fish. But can only fish a few lakes, As others does not have the structure he can fish.

I was shown how to crappie fish by a guy here that holds two jig poles and slow trolls around stump flats. I started vertical jigging and I like that better. I guess it's a combination of the two, as I move slowly from one spot to the next.

Casting Jigs for me...never been fond on vertical jigging - but i like to tightline or cork a minnow at the same time - double my chances at hangin' a good-un.
    I don't go Fishing...I go CATCHING!
