Default 2018 Bigeyecrappieman- Championship Tournament Results 3/31

The 2018 BigEyeCrappieman Crappie Fishing Series has come to an end . Saturday 3/31 was the Championship Tournament! 25 teams Qualified for the Event . 24 Teams showed up to Battle for The Prestigious BigEyeCrappieman Championship Crown !! The Almighty God in Heaven Blessed us with a beautiful day . Light winds sunshine and a good Crappie bite. Most teams had their limit before 9:00am . The teams could Fish either Harris or Jordan Lake . The Top 3 finishing teams fished Harris Lake and brought some beauty’s to the Scales. It was The DownEast Panfishing King Jimmy Long who was Crowned The 2018 BigEyeCrappieman Champion! He brought 7 Fish to the scales weighing a whopping 13.780 lbs and Won the Big Fish of the day with a 2.485 lb Monster. But right behind him was the Wolfpack Team of Andy Dick and Jason Evans with 13.570 lbs and a Big Fish of 2.370 lbs and rounding out the top 3 was the Dynamic Durham Duo !! Doug Farlow and Billy Goss ! With 13.045 lbs and a Big Fish of 2.150 lbs . At the weigh in The Ridgecrest Baptist Church of Durham Outdoor Ministry Guys cooked Crappie Fillets donated by some of the fishermen. Provided Snacks and drinks . A special thanks goes out to Art Ferrell, John Wyckoff, Jim Burch , Pastor Marc Francis and Robin King and all the people of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Durham NC for their help and support through out the season . At yesterday’s weigh in we prayed again for our Brother Aaron Eubanks who continues to heal at UNC Hospital. We read from Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53 from God’s Holy Word about The Suffering Servant . How it describes crucifixion before crucifixion was even Invented. We saw were Jesus an innocent man the son of God died in the Place of a guilty man named Barrabas . We read where Jesus was on the Cross between two criminals . How one mocked him and the other believed in him . We read where on Sunday morning the 3rd Day Jesus victoriously Rose from the grave !! Conquering death hell and the grave . And “ if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your Heart God raised him from the Dead you will be saved “ Saved from the pit ! Hell !! Separation from God utter darkness!! Saved to live with Him forever !! It was awesome to see all our guys and gals on their knees praying to the King Of Kings !! Beside the water . It truly was a special Easter Service out in His Creation. Praising Him !! We also recognized the 2018 Points Champions Robbie and Keith Johnson For a great consistent year through all kinds of weather patterns. We recognized Aaron Stack for catching the Big Fish of the year a 2.545 lb monster at Harris Lake . And we also recognized the two teams who topped the scales with over 14 pounds this year . The teams of Tony Auclair and Jeremy Schmidt and Jimmy Perry and Jeff Williford . We thanked Shane Walser and Newell Montgomery for their support and help and many other sponsors like Bobcats Bait and Tackle in Clarksville Va . Big thanks to Rod King for putting on the tournaments again this year. There were some big fish brought to the scales this season even though the weather at times made it quite challenging. I also appreciate his sharing from God's Word with us at each tournament. One of the things that I like best of all is the friends that I have made over the years with a number of guys. I enjoy the fishing, but just about as much is talking fishing not only on Saturdays, but during the week as we all plan our strategies.

Rod said he may be able to have some Fall tournaments this year and I hope he can. For those of you new to this website and/or crappie fishing, there is no better way to improve your fishing than by participating in these tournaments. If you want to improve as a crappie fisherman, then you need to learn from the best and this is the place to do it. Just look at the weights that are being pulled in by not just one or two teams, but the large majority of teams week after week. When Charles and I started fishing together a few years ago, we were happy just to bring seven fish to the scale. Then we progressed to where we were averaging a pound a fish. Now our goal is to average 1.5 pounds a fish which we missed by .03 on Saturday. The reason we have improved year after year is the knowledge we have learned from fellow fishermen. Most of us share few details on this website because of the lurkers who just want a free handout about where and how to fish. Come to these tournaments and as you gain the trust of your fellow fishermen, you will learn a lot of the things needed improve your count and weight.

    See you guys this Fall.

Looks like a really well run tournement with some outstanding fisherman. Congratulations to all involved. Hope you can expand your range a little and include Kerr Lake aka Buggs Island into one of your tournament stops. Me and Gene fish a crappie tournement trail here in VA and it has made us learn different methods of fishing in order to stay competive. Like it was mentioned above if you give it a try it will make you a better fisherman. Really appreciate hearing and reading about these tournaments and the spreading of God's message. Great job.
