I borrowed a idea from another site.
¾" PVC, a tee, ¾" dowel rods.
Cut the PVC too length, insert dowel rods (they act as stiffeners), cut one end at a 45° angle. With PVC glue, glue both ends (to seal it), glue tee on opposite end of 45° cut.
You tie off to the tee, or have a bull ring tied to a cleat, and put the pole through it.
By sealing it, it will now float.
Works good as a push pole also.
¾" PVC fits perfectly in a transom mount, trolling motor mount.
Is it perfect? Nope. Has some flex to it. I have had mine keep me in place in 15mph breeze.
Fiberglass poles are better, their also more expensive.
Do a search for "shallow water anchors".
