Anyone ever use the American angler electric knife on crappie?
    Blades too thick? Thanks

I got a black American Angler that I run off my boat battery. A buddy bought it at an auction for $10 never been used, I been abusing it for 2 years and works great.

I love mine. I have fillet a lot of fish so far with mine not bragging but in the thousands so far. I went through many other brands before buying the American Angler. I cut right through rib bones and all with mine crappie, bass, and catfish and if mine did stop tomorrow I would not hesitate to buy another although I do think they have raised the price pretty high. But the old saying you get what you pay for is still about right.

The blue handle and yellow handle models are about the same price. What is the difference in the two? Both are 110 volt models .

About like fishing line brett.... A lot more out there cheaper but they will not outperform the American angler. Buy a set of the shark blades to go with it. Flexible and tough

Still using my old grey handled American Angler, after another member sent me a broken one to scavenge for parts. Still have a Mr Twister, that I've had for decades, but mainly use it at home because of the curly power cord not always being long enough at cleaning stations. My partner also has two Mr Twisters. My backup, should I need it (& I always bring two on trips) is a GE (brown/white) elec knife that's probably 40 some years old and still performs as well as these others.

I, too, prefer to use the slim blade (*Berkley brand) which is similar to the "shark" blade.

I have heard of people removing the curly power cord from a Mr Twister & replacing it with a straight cord ... probably for the same reason I don't like using it at cleaning stations. (the curly cord tends to pull out of the well worn sockets of most cleaning stations, as many stations have the sockets well away from the cleaning area. which causes you to have to stretch the cord almost straight)

I can't figure out why they put a curly cord on those things. I like the knife but not the cord. I usually pack a short 6' light weight cord to plug into so I don't have to fight the curly cord.
