Hey Jerry those are some dandys. How deep were they and what is the water temp?
Crappie X.
This morning we fished several of the condos we put out last year for Crappie Camp and found some pretty nice crappie on some of them:
The biggest one was 16.5-inches long and weighed 2-pounds, 9-ounces:
This 12-year-old youngster also caught this 15.5-inch, 1-pound, 13-ounce crappie on one of them:
I expect some really nice stringers of good crappie to come in during Spring Crappie Camp.

Jerry, yet another fine outing for you and your guests! What a great catch for the youngster! He'll remember this day for the rest of his life.

That should get them back on track to start spawning around the first of April and the spawn should be in full swing by Crappie Camp. There's a few fish being caught in the shallows but they haven't settled in yet and by looking at the eggs I don't think there spawning yet but it's getting close.
That 2 lb 9 oz'er is a nice one for sure!
nice mess of fish!
You guys did very well and the fish look great! So far here they are not spawning yet and only the males are shallow for the most part. Las week or so I kept 69 and think only about 5-6 had eggs so they are right on the edge of starting.
Water temp dropped a little after that last rain and cool front from the 68.5 it had go to and dropped back to about 64. Now it is just about back to 66-67 degrees. I hope they hold off a little more so I can get my boat in and that is looking like 3 weeks away
Hey Jerry
Way to go. You have probably read the post on the Arkansas board about the get to gether this weekend. You and Darryl get mentioned a lot at these things.
I want to thank you two for all of the info you share. The one time I have been in your boat, I learned so much. It cost me the expense of another graph and GPS unit. But, I go out with more confidence now and it paid off Saturday too since I was in new water.
See you down there next week probably. I have an outting booked with Darryl. His calender looked like he was hungrier than you when I set it up.
Thanks again
Don
