    Default Bad Knees

I have G3 Sortsman 17. I really like the boat with the exception of getting up from the console. At my age of 74 its a real problem. Has anybody any good idea how to raise the drivers seat to help this problem?
    Thanks

Describe your current seating. Are you just sitting on a cushion on the aluminum seat? Or do you have a pedestal type seat? Have you thought about a leaning post? https://www.westmarine.com/leaning-posts

A good friend of mine had a stroke several years ago and is very limited. He had extensive work done at a boat shop that does aluminum work/welding. He had rails made that bolted to the center console, to help pull up and/or hold onto. Also had several other aluminum rails put on the boat to make getting around easier.

Get in touch by PM or post a note to Wilbur on Illinois board. He used to have a tracker and he built some rails for his drivers seat that raised it up. Made it easier to get up and down out of. Hopefully he still has pictures of his set up.

I have a Tracker 175 and I am short and I wanted to be higher to see better. I have 3 seats across. I took some 1 1/2" square aluminum tubing and put it all the way across under the front and back under my seat and raised them that much. I am thinking about some thicker tubing to raise it even further to see better and get more room under the seats to maybe get a battery under there. If this interests you, and have any questions feel free to ask.

I installed this one last spring. Love it. Helps getting up from seat on to the upper deck.

If the seat needs to be 7" higher this would be a cheap easy fix maybe.
