Default Ram Rod 2000 pole holder question

Bought a Ram Rod 2000 pole holder, just can't bring it to myself to drill 4 holes and then realize I have the holder in the wrong spot. Has anyone used a track system or suggest one with a budget. Or I will take any ideas

we do not fish with more than two poles each, normally just myself and son. We fish for Crappie, Walleye and Catfish.

Tracker 16V with side console - 1998 boat

    thank for any ideas

Does it have a track built in like the newer ones? If so, I bought some from woodlands outdoors on eBay and am very happy with them.

The boats have a slot to the gunnel and the rod holders can slide to any position along the boat except for the console look at bass tracker boats on google it may show the slots

My tin boat looks like it has measles from pop rivets. Silver measles!!! Fish don't care.
