Guess I just missed it! Does anyone know how much the commercial fishermen get for the carp per pound ?

What they do get is ridiculous for the amount of work, broken equipment and hassle that the fisheries/buyers put these guys and gals thru.

You're right about that, BC ... they may be getting $0.15/lb to net them, but the processors are getting about $0.37 or more per pound and the high end restaurants that serve them are asking .... well, take a look at what I copied out of a Journal article : "At Ward 426, the fish surfaces as “Kentucky Carp,” a $24 special browned in butter and served atop sweet potato puree with roasted fig jam and mushrooms pickled in balsamic vinegar."

That entree sounds disgusting!! Sounds like a waste of good carp.

The best way is seasoned well with Salt, pepper, garlic, and onion. Wrap in bacon and grill until the bacon is done. Take off grill and remove the bacon. Eat bacon and discard the carp.
One shall not waste good bacon like that! Carp don't even deserve to be decorated with bacon!!
