Default 08/30/2017 KY Lake Fins of Fury

Well, the day began with different weather results vs what our trusty accurate, certified meteorologist forecast...

Every website I use and even the local bingo weather forecasters predicted clouds and overcast skies. Regardless, by the time I was putting #6 of 8 rods out, one of my outside long rods bowed up and it was game on from right then. That was keeper 1, and I caught 6 in the first hour with 4 keepers. As that sun got up and shining nicely, the doubles began to occur, and ended the day with 4 different doubles....

Had 17 keepers in the boat when my batteries said "they quit!", and I told myself I wasn't gonna leave hungry feeshes!
So, I cranked up the Opti Max and she did good. With the wind at my back, the boat was going 2.8 mph and going into the wind it was doing 2.3 mph. Had to make some adjustments with that much speed but I finished up my 20 fish limit right around 11:15 am. This was my first cranking limit since we began truly cranking this summer in June.

I have gotten pretty close several times but today was something else. The Bandits, Bombers and Arkies were getting gobbled up and swallowed today. Hopefully I can get back on these feeshes after Harvey vacates the area over the weekend!

Pullem' if ya gottem', they are liking it movin' right now!!

That's a good day. I love it when you don't know which pole to grab first.

Great job but with the 35 to 45 mph winds they are predicting you'll be trolling at 18 mph!!

Great catch Brian. Good seeing someone catching some fish. I was surprised those fish hit at that speed. The great battery quest is on??
