Was the deal on Enid some 20 yrs. ago . They were replaced with telescoping $ 7.00 poles , then on to today . bgjp b/m were the bomb at 22 dollars . lol

Used to do it all the time in the 70s at Washington in the early spring. It's all we had back then. No rod holders, we just sat on the poles. Some times you would have 2 fish and raise up to get one pole out and lose another one overboard.

I use the 10' B&M black widow fiberglass poles. My lake is a some what shallow lake mostly 8'-13' deep. The B&M poles are not much more expensive than buying a cane pole. They are a lot easier to handle as you can telescope it back to a 4' length of transporting. I have not had any fish break one yet(they will break but it will 99% of the time be the fisherman not the fish) so they are pretty tough.
It is a very simple set up but it works for me. Here is a post I made earlier on this Tec nick:

I run 18 cane poles on my boat at time. I have using them for about 20 years now. Use the 13-16 ft poles.
