What is a good rod to pull cranks with? I have some 12' Mr. Crappie Graphite rods but don't know if they'd do too well.

BnM PRO Staffs do well for pulling. The stiffer Bass Pro Tightline Specials are best for "pushing" cranks with 2-3 oz leads.

BnM Pro Staff 8ft, 12ft, 16ft, and 20ft with four poles on each side will give you 4ft of line separation and sweep 44-48ft depending on how wide your boat is. Cranking is a blast!

Another BnM PST fan here (I have 8, 12 and 16' rods in my spread). I use 6' and 7' medium action UglyStik trigger grip rods for my shortys and running straight off the stern. I'm also now sold on the Southern Crappie 14' 143T rods after using them last year and they did phenomenally well with pulling and pushing large crankbaits with a great deal of sensitivity and excellent backbone.
I feel like 4' of separation between rods is beast to learn on to minimize tangles during turns and course changes.
