take the screws back out coat them with 3m marine sealant which wall-mart sell after you cut them off seal um with the resin that will fix it
What an idiot!!! I was going to take care of that loose seat today. I didn't realize that the deck was that close to the hull. I've got about 7 screws sticking through the hull about 1/2 an inch. I need advice on fixing this. If I snip off the screws even with the hull, will I need cloth or will resin alone do the trick?
Thanks,

Aluminum or glass.?

I don't think that it would be a good idea have screws that pass thru the deck and also thru the hull. Both the deck and the hull flex ..... tthe hull because of water pressure from below and the deck because of the weight on top. If the deck and the hull were not meant to be fastened together in that area , then the shouldn't by those screws. As fishermikeasked alum or glass?
I find that when I make a mistake like this ... the rule that I go by is if you are unsure what to do ....do nothing. I have often made my problems worse by not thinking things through completely before taking action.

it's fiberglass. I've been doing a little digging, would marine tex be good to just cover the holes, or would just filling them with regular resin be the best way to go?

Do you think I will need cloth or just resin?

If you can get to the inside of it place cloth on the inside with resin and then resin the outside. my $0.02
I would go with cloth and resin...I would mix the cloth and resin befor applying. Use very course sandpaper ..35 grit ..ruff up the area around each hole to about 1/2 to 3/4 inch . Use something to push the clothe and resin into each hole smooth it out to about 1/8 inch above the surface and let it set up. Sand it down to the surface level.
