    Default Sight fishing for crappie

Just returned from a Minnesota fishing trip and did something I've never done before. I got to site fish for Crappie man it was fun. Caught well over 60 fish and seen every single one of them bite my jig. Last year we couldn't figure them out but could see them, this year figured it out. All fish on jigs 2-3 foot of water in the Lilly Pads (visibility at least 10 foot), what a blast.

You learn a lot, get frustrated and get to see stuff you don't see around here. I watched crappie just ignore my jig, swim right past it some would even bite it and spit it out before I could even feel it or set the hook others just stare at it. Pretty cool stuff!

Congrats and thanks for the post and pics.
I know what you mean by "sight fishing". My son and I have done that on Pomme a few times in the spring when the water was very clear. It is fascinating watch them inhale the lure and then spit it out. When they spit it out is when you feel the tap on your line. We had to literally touch their nose with the jig to get them to bite sometimes.
