Default Cranking in the Rain today.

Got on the water at 8:15 am and it was lightly raining and kept at it till a break about 1ish. Hit the river channel and for the first 1 1/2 hrs not a hit or a dink even,,so thought I needed a new game plan and went to a long bank I previously had long lined with jigs a couple of weeks ago and moved out to 10-12 ft of water and ran the bandits about 7.5 or so deep and started catching fish as I am thinking they are moving to shallows to spawn. Next 3 hrs took a limit at a speed of 1.5 to 1.8 mph varing depth and speed. Kept 6 at 10"or alittle more, then all the rest were 11 to 14". Salad bar, hotty toddy (pink) and purple w black were the hot colors. Water temp was 77. Went back at noon along the river channel to a couple of my hot spots and still no hits by anything so it was following the points, shallow bay areas as I probably caught 50 today. Loaded up at 1:30 pm and called it a nice but wet day.

Nice catch. Might try cranks or gigs this week. My house work has gone to hell,oh well, always tomorrow. When fish are biting it time to go.

Iknow the feeling, same here. Everything on the bakburner except fishing, got up at 5 am and chased some series 31 deep cycle batteries down and worked on getting them in the Jon boat as I had to do major compartment rebuild to fit them in and then re wire. Lookout fishies! New batteries means I can now buzz bait them.
