We are thinking of going to the lake this weekend but I wanted to know what I need to do after I pull the boat out to keep things from freezing up.

And be sure the skids aren't frozen if you decide to launch again the next morning. Not a lot of fun trying to get a boat back on the trialer after it took a slide off halway down the ramp.
I would suggest keeping your boat hooked to the trailer if you fish on a cold day back to back. Had a guy in our club dump his band new glass boat on the ramp because the runners were frozen!

like they said keep the boat hooked to the trailer on back to back days. When you do back in back in just like you would to regular launch maybe just a little deeper and watch your boat. If the boat is froze to the trailer it will break free in a couple of minutes or so. No sense in ripping the carpet off the runners.
