Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been working since October getting my ducks in a row to get my Coast Guard OUPV (Six Pack) Captain's credential. I got it in the mail yesterday after a couple $$Grand and a few years off my life. I attended a training course the 1st of the month for 8 days that was, to say the least, intense.

The whole process has been frustrating, time consuming, and expensive but it is over.

Ed and I have been working on my sponsoring the KY Forum for some time but didn't want to pull the trigger until all was done.

I'll now officially start guiding crappie and other fish on KY and Barkley lakes as well as the TN and Cumberland rivers.

I'll still be around here as much as possible with as much info on the lakes as I can possibly give without giving specifics, same as always.

The link to my site is below and I'll be updating pics as I can to show the new rig and some new faces.

Nah. My Ky license plate is m r dux so I'll keep it like that. Lots of folks think it's MR Dux but it is m r dux. Mr Dux sounded arrogant.

Congratulations!!!! You are da man! I too have been thinking about getting my Coast Guard Captain's credentials....Just cuz I want it and it will decrease insurance but not by very much. I have few questions for ya when your life slows down some. I will let ya recoop for a bit first. And I will also try to think up all my questions and write them down so I dont take up alot of your time......if you allow me some time. I wish you the best Captain DUX!

Thanks to all who have posted. I'll do all I can to help anyone who might have questions about the process. Since the Dept of Homeland Security has gotten involved, a lot of the way things were done in the past are no longer true. I had to find out the hard way. When the Director of USCG Recreational Boating for the southeastern US called me personally to fill me in, I was all ears. When he told he I would be subject to a $25,000 fine and forfeiture of my boat and gear should I be caught without it, I listened. Since the Cumberland River, Tennessee River, Ohio and Mississippi Rivers and all of their lakes and tributaries are all part of the Inland Waterways or Western Waterways as the Coast Guard calls them, they fall under different rules than other lakes in KY.

KY F&W has their own guide license and process for getting it. I got that taken care of months ago.
