Smithville March 9th

Caught about 50 dinks today and only 2 keepers. Lots of fun but not good for my frying pan. Caught some under the Owl creek bridge on minnows and lures about 4 ft down over 25ft of water. Camp branch marina area was the same thing 4ft down over deeper water near the marina. Hopefully there are some bigger fish in there somewhere! Found water temps of 53 deg further north but fish were scattered. Wind made it a little tough to fish but I managed. Anyway thats my report, hopefully we can get some more reports going.

At least you got out and caught some. I,m gonna try it this weekend if the weather cooperates. Water warming up, gotta get better.

I've had days like that. I moved around and had to be content when I found spots that went from 1 in 20 crappie being a keeper to 1 in 5 crappie being a keeper. Like they say, at that point I just decided to "stick and stay and make it pay".
