Are you talking about drift socks? If so that's awful shallow. Be better off with some drag chains in that shallow water.
Just curious if anyone uses drift nets while spider rigging in shallow water (2-5 feet). My boat is like a sailboat on a windy day and thought it may help.

3 or 4 ft of heavy log chain on the end of a rope. I found the old window weights work well for the same purpose. Chains and weights are better for the really windy days as long as the bottom isn't littered with debris. Drift socks will work too but tend to put you at a faster pace. With either, I've found that two is better than one. Two off the back corners will put you pointed down wind if you are spider rigging. One will have the front of the boat doing a lot of side to side movement.
I'd rather be fishing.
I use 3 ft sections of 1/2 in chain. I use 50 ft section of light rope have loop knots tied every 10 ft to stop it off.
