I hope it's enough weight. You just have to try it. I tried to sink a christmas tree once with a block tied to it, and it would not sink. I could not believe it. Good luck. It looks good.

The new cinder blocks are not as heavy as the older type. But your cane appear to be small diameter. That should sink OK.

that is plenty of weight, it will sink easily.
WE NEED MORE COWBELL
nothing wrong with that. it will serve you nicely.
next time make some wood forms.take them to your local concrete ready mix plant at the end of there day, they can put left over concrete in them for your weights
That will probably sink easily, but if the bottom of your pond or lake has a hard surface and a lot of boat traffic, it may not stay in place. This spring I plan on fastening 2 or 3 blocks together as the lake here has 60 foot boats and bimbo boatmen or boatwomen. The waves from their boats deflect from the shoreline and have a tendency to push out anything you place on the lake's bottom!
the trick to catch that finnicky speck....
gently set the hook just before the peck
Hey bama, I made some just like those with about the same size Bamboo and sank them in a strip pit that was over 20 feet deep. They sank like there was nothing on them. and I can see them on my graph very easy.
Good luck with them.

I did the same thing. I ended up pulling them up, putting them in the woods, and bringing more blocks the next day.Originally Posted by broharrell
