    Default Nader old river run

Stopped by the old river today. There were lots of trucks, a few open parking spaces, not packed out. Watched em about thirty minutes. Talked to a few of em. One or two had had some good fish. Over all kinda slow. If you've ever been there you know it can turn on and off in a second, that kinda a day is what I was told.

A few years ago I was sitting on the rocks between the ramp and the channel during spring break. I could throw a float and minnow rig into the edge of the trees in the water on the other side and catch some good size crappie. Some boaters saw what I was doing and moved into the area and the fish were off the rest of the day. I was catching crappie 2 to 3 foot deep around the trees and 8 to 10 foot deep along the rocks.
