Weather showed freezing rain but we didnt care. Got to the lake at 610am. Launched and off we went. Phone battery died so im not sure on time but very shortly after launching we found the crappie. Sunrise they hit very shallow in about 2 ft of water. Then as the morning went on they moved out a bit and started hitting in 6 to 8 ft of water.
Water temps 62 degrees at the outlet. Not a ton of huge fish but i only had to throw back about 10 fish under 10".
Hit a couple wipers and flat heads also.
Off the water at 2.
No other boats showed up so that was nice.
Very nice!

Thanks. Forgot to mention:
1) biggest crappie was the black one right circular livewell hole. A tad over 14" and very thick.
2) wiper and white bass right around 20"
3) 2 big carps actually hit the jigs and put up a heck of a fight.
4) all fish were caught on jigs except one flat head which my inlaw threw out some shad for.

That's awesome. I'm going to have to make it down there someday
If you got time. Try to go and get to the out let area around sunrise. Lake was up about 3 feet since last week due to all the rain. The creek was really dirty and we only got 1 dink crappie in there.
Im going to be out of town next weekend so i doubt i will be able to go.

Looks like a great time. Thanks for the report!
Don't Move a Mussel!! Clean, Drain and Dry EVERY TIME, ON EVERY BODY OF WATER!!
Awesome...
you have to get there early if you you want a place at the outlet. Before sunup
Is it that busy even during the week? That's when I do most of my fishing. I'd have to leave the house at 4am to get there by sun up
