    Default Hand Carved Bait

Been carving on this for a spell. It is for a trip to the Lower Cumberland for Stripper. Didn't know where to post so here it is. Suppose to be a rainbow. All custom mix on the paint and the joints where kind of hard to get right. 8 inches long!! Just thought I would share a summer project.

Thanks for the comments! Going next week. The bait swims pretty good. It is more of a glider and it sits in the water with a very nice attitude. Was fun to figure everything out and will make a couple more. The striper in there can get up to 60 pounds. We shall see if I can get one to even sniff it.

Love the custom paint job, and the chartreuse tail sets it off.
    Nice Job!

Really good job. Nice eight inch bait. Should get you a few monster fish.

Beautiful bait. I couldn't catch anything on it because after all that work I would be fishing it on well rope afraid to loose it. That looks as good as those high dollar lures from the west coast. I bet the joints were hard to figure out and get to work. Show us that monster Stripe you catch on it.

Anyone hand-carving a bait gets my attention. Everything I have tried with the whittling has looked like a broken clothes pin when I call it quits. Nice work here and good luck on your striper quest.

anybody that hand- carving a crank bait it is an art all by itself I always admired somebody that will take the time to make something so wonderful it's even hard to fish with something after you get through with it but it kind of reminds me of the old days on some of my collectibles with a jointed body that will move back and forth you did a beautiful job I'm sure that it will be a big hit with the muskies or bass .
