I'm a little late with the report, but I had a darn good weekend hunting and fishing despite some tough weather. Killed a gobbler Saturday morning and then dodged the storms all afternoon and caught a limit of slabs. Really had to hunt for the fish...I think the cool temps and cloudy days pushed them off the bank. We found the bite was a little better below Bucksaw than above. Caught mostly males casting a road runner to the bank. Got the fish and the turkey, but I need Hogster and jigfisherx to show me how to find the morels!
Sunday morning was still windy and made it tough to hear the birds gobbling, so we quit early and went fishing. same pattern but a little better bite even though the surface temp had cooled some. Caught and released 12 in an hour or so, then headed home windburnt and happy! Hope the sunshine will crank things up this week and bring some good fishing for all the folks headed to camp. Looking forward to seeing everybody!
